Workshop Itinerary
8:00 – 8:30 am: Meet up and Introduction
Meet up at Kaohsiung MRT Formosa Boulevard Station. We’ll begin with introductions and a brief discussion on street photography, safety measures, and the day’s schedule.
8:30 – 9:00 am: Camera Settings & Techniques
Learn about essential camera settings for street photography, techniques to capture stunning shots, and how to work with different light conditions.
9:00 – 11:30 am: Pier–2 Art Center Photography
Head towards the Pier–2 Art Center, an area known for its street art and vibrant surroundings. Here you’ll have a chance to capture diverse subjects, from modern art installations to dynamic street scenes.
11:30 – 12:30 pm: Lunch and Photo Review
Lunch at a local restaurant (cost not included in workshop price). Over lunch, we’ll review the photos taken so far, providing constructive feedback and highlighting excellent examples.
12:30 – 2:00 pm: Old City Streets and Markets
Explore the older parts of the city, such as the Kaisyuan Night Market (open in daytime too) and Yancheng District, to capture the traditional atmosphere and daily life scenes. Focus on techniques for capturing movement, interactions, and ambient lighting.
2:00 – 3:30 pm: Love River Area
Visit the Love River area. This spot offers an opportunity to capture the tranquility of the riverside juxtaposed with the bustling city life. We’ll focus on composition techniques here.
3:30 – 4:00 pm: Final Review and Wrap up
Return to the meet-up location. We’ll review the day’s captures, provide feedback, discuss post-processing tips, and end the day with a Q&A session and a group photo.
Materials Needed:
Participants are required to bring their own cameras (DSLR, mirrorless, or advanced point-and-shoot). Please ensure your camera is fully charged and bring spare batteries/memory cards if available. Comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended.
Important Note:
All levels are welcome, but basic knowledge of your camera’s settings (how to adjust shutter speed, aperture, and ISO) is recommended for the best experience.

Explore the Pier–2 Art Center, an area known for its street art. Here, we will focus on the participant’s unique style, with real-time feedback and recommendations.
11:30 – 12:30 pm: Lunch and Photo Review
Lunch at a local restaurant (cost not included in workshop price). During lunch, review photos taken so far, provide feedback and suggest areas of improvement or experimentation.
12:30 – 2:00 pm: Old City Streets and Markets

9:30 – 10:00 am: Camera Settings & Techniques
Cover essential camera settings for street photography and techniques to capture stunning shots. The goal is to empower participants to work effectively with different light conditions and subjects.
10:00 am – 12:30 pm: Xinyi District Photography
Capture the hustle and bustle of the Xinyi District, the modern face of Taipei with its skyscrapers, shopping streets, and people.
12:30 – 1:30 pm: Lunch and Photo Review
Lunch at a local restaurant (cost not included in the workshop price). Review the photos taken so far and provide constructive feedback.
1:30 – 5:00 pm: Old Town Exploration – Dihua Street
Visit Dihua Street in the Dadaocheng area, a historic neighborhood perfect for capturing traditional architecture and market scenes.
Day 2
9:00 – 12:00 pm: Shilin Morning Market
Explore the Shilin morning market, where vibrant local life, food stalls, and diverse subjects provide ample photography opportunities.
12:00 – 1:00 pm: Lunch and Photo Review
Lunch at a local restaurant. Review the morning’s photos and provide feedback.
1:00 – 4:00 pm: Tamsui Riverside and Old Street
Visit the Tamsui district, known for its historic buildings, street scenes, and riverside views.
4:00 – 5:00 pm: Final Review and Wrap up
Return to Taipei 101. Review the weekend’s captures, discuss post-processing tips, and end the workshop with a Q&A session and a group photo.
